Overview
A BRAND NEW adventure for 2027 where we are heading to the Balearic island of Mallorca for a thrilling European yoga retreat. This is a very exciting short break staying in a beautiful Spanish town house in the small inland town of Fornalutx in the North of the island. This is the perfect location away from the main crowds and the opportunity to experience local island life. A short drive away is the Soller canyon where you will embark on a dry canyoning guided adventure with a local company. Abseil, climb & scramble through the rocks and canyons to an end point. Another adventure will be on the crystal blue waters of the Port de Soller coastline and you will paddle and explore the cliff lines and caves by sea kayak, why not take a dip and snorkel to check out the underwater marine life too. Our outdoor activities are sandwiched between two 1 hour Yoga classes which will be taught in the calming studio inside of our accommodation. As always, delicious homecooked meals using local ingredients will be provided throughout along with some local wine & produce tasting.
Accommodation
Our Spanish townhouse, Posada de Balitx, is located in the village/small town of Fornalutx, which has regularly been named as the ‘most beautiful village in Spain’ and is home to a few locals bars & restaurants. It boasts lovely outdoor seating and relaxing areas, including a splash pool, dining terrace, sunbeds and views across the valley and mountains. The inside space is just as impressive with plenty of natural light beaming in to the living areas, kitchen and boutique style bedrooms.
There is WiFi, hairdryers and air conditioning available.
Fornalutx is approximatley a 45 minute drive from Palma Airport. There will be one return group transfer included (details below).
Activities
YOGA whether you practise yoga regularly or will be a beginner, our Yoga instructors tailor the classes to suit all levels and plan them around the activities you will be doing so they compliment each other. Mats will be provided.
SEA KAYAKING the Port de Soller coastline is home to beautiful clear waters and sea caves. You will have a guide and be provided with life preserves and sit on top kayaks. Expect to be paddling for around 2 hours at a relaxed pace and be out exploring the coastline. There will also be the opportunity to go snorkelling if you would like to do so.
DRY CANYONING a 15 minute drive away from the accommodation is the Solleric Canyon. Dry canyoning is an adventurous way to explore the canyons which involves working our way through the bed of a dry ravine. We will be crossing their slopes and using mixed techniques of rappelling/abseiling and climbing. The sport section of the canyon has a distance of about 500 metres and takes about 1 hour and 30 minutes to navigate. In this section, you will find 4 obligatory abseils and a cliff where it is possible to install a roped handrail. The highest abseil is 20 metres high. The return is via the same access path and takes 1 hour, this activity is aimed at beginner level and is classed as an easy trail.
Who is this trip suitable for?
The Yoga & Adventure Mallorca retreat is perfect for those travelling solo or with friends and those who are looking for an exciting short break with a combination of adventure activities, wellness and local culture. The dry canyoning & sea kayaking are aimed at a beginner level, however due to the length of time on the activities, a good level of fitness is recommended.
