Overview

This is a weekend all about the Western dales merging in to the Lake District and the amazing activities and surroundings the area has to offer. An itinerary that combines relaxing Yoga, tailored for both beginners and the more experienced Yogi alongside a guided wild swim with wild swim coach Les (aka the Dales Dipper) and a beginner stand up paddle boarding session on the beautiful Killington Lake. The wild swim with take place in a beautiful and safe location and Les will be there to offer support along with the techniques to deal with cold water submersion. Danny and his team from SUP Active Yorkshire, will be bringing their quality fleet of paddle boards and teaching you new skills or helping you to develop on existing ones. Staying in luxury accommodation with great social spaces, you will be able to socialise or take the time out as you need it. Enjoy a sauna & ice bath session with great views to top the weekend off.

Accommodation

St Marks Stays is a beautiful country house, located on the outskirts of Sedbergh and set remotely with lots of lovely garden space. St Marks Stays comfortably sleeps 12 people in twin and double (used for single occupancy) rooms, some of which are en suite. It boasts gorgeous living spaces and has some perfect areas outside for sitting in hammocks or chilling around a firepit. This is a creative venue, where the owners also live on site. They have made their home a calming space perfect for a weekend in the Yorkshire Dales.. There is a large living room, dining room, WiFi and onsite parking.

To get to St Marks, you are approx 15 minutes from the M6 or 1 hour from the A1.

Who is this trip suitable for?

This retreat is suitable for those travelling solo or with friends who want to learn or develop their stand up paddle boarding skills and grow confidence in cold water. The weekend will be at a relaxed pace with plenty of time to chill in between activities. It is aimed at beginner level upwards and those wanting to explore new activities. A reasonable level of fitness is recommended to get the most out of the retreat.

Itinerary

Friday - arrival from 4pm 6pm - 7pm Yoga Class 7.30pm - delicious 2 course dinner

Saturday - breakfast from 8am 9.15am - pick up by coach and transported to Killington Lake to meet Danny and his team at SUP Active Yorkshire for your Intro to SUP session 12.15pm - return to St Marks 1pm - lunch 3pm - 4pm - Yoga class 4.30pm - 5.30pm Sauna & Ice Bath session in the spa garden 6.45pm - delicious 2 course dinner

Sunday - 7am - tea, coffee & fruit 7.45am - pick up for guided wild swim 9.45am - breakfast 11am - depart

Itineraries & timings are subject to change depending on weather conditions. The Yorkshire Dales is beautiful but the weather can be changeable

5 rooms are twin share, some with ensuite bathrooms. 2 single occupancy rooms are available. Please request when you book and these will be confirmed if there is availability.

Dietary Requirements - all of our food is made from fresh and is designed & created with a varied, gourmet vegetarian menu which is a combination of healthy meals and treats. Please let us know if you have any allergies and we will do our best to accommodate you, however please be aware that the kitchens we use can’t always be 100% allergen free.
